“ I cant believe I hadnt ever been to Story before this! We had a pretty early rez 5pm Sunday so arrived with the place to ourselves, but by 7pm it was packed. And rightfully so. The pear goat cheese salad and duck empanadas were fantastic. Dishes where you can taste every individual unique flavor and the candied nuts are crushed small so they dont just take over everything. I ordered the lobster and shiitake tagliatelle as my entree and I would have licked the plate if it would have seemed appropriate. All 3 plates were so delicately done and absolutely delicious. I really liked Brians entree too beef short rib is apparently a staple on their menu and I can see why. The meat is perfection from the sauce to the tenderness. The gnocchi were a little tighter than I expected more like spaetzle but the perfect bite was a little of the crispy onion ring, a little of the flakeapart beef, and a mini gnocchi. We got fries to start and demolished them, though they were just a tiny bit over salted. The aioli is the key. I liked the lemon cake but LOVED the carrot cake with mascarpone buttercream and crunchy salty bits on top. Pair with good cocktails and a great wine list and we were happy diners. ”

“ This is my second time eating here. From appetizers to desserts, the food was presented nicely and tasted well. Hemingway was excellent. Great attention to detail from the frontend staff. Excellent hospitality and very rare to find in the Midwest. My only suggestion for the chef is to devise some delicious special sauces to compliment the wide array of entrees. In addition, to add an additional vegetarian option or rotate ingredients to better suit that dietary restriction. Lastly, to continually elevate presentation of the food and search for more exotic ingredients. Update Here are some photos of the food from my Valentines Date! The food was delicious but not as memorable as I had hoped. The dessert was very hard to eat. Nonetheless, we will try again in the future and the rating remains the same. ”
“ I so enjoyed this restaurant. To be clear if you come here it should be for the food...the chef is amazing and you really feel like care and time was put into the meal. He even split an entree for my friend and I and the plating was amazing. The atmosphere is light airy with little focus being put on the actual decor of the room, the walls are white it a hint of black as the accent. This would be a great place for a special date, anniversary, or foodie. The atmosphere is quiet and wouldnt be the best choice for a bachelors night. ”

“ Love this place! We dont eat here frequently, but we try to make it in several times a year. We were here with friends and had a terrific meal. Soft shell crab. Roast chicken. Lamb. The food was excellent. The service was attentive and helpful, never overbearing. The atmosphere is sublime and beautiful. Couldnt recommend it more highly. ”
